Dear respected Shaykh, assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. My wife’s post-partum bleeding stopped twenty days after she gave birth. However, some yellow and dark secretions are coming out of her. Should she fast?

Praise be to Allah, and may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and his companions. Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. As to what follows: In response to your question, we say: If the yellow and dark secretions came out with the post-partum bleeding or immediately after it then they have the ruling of post-partum bleeding. Therefore it is not incumbent upon her to fast or pray as long as they continue to come out. She may pray and fast after these secretions stop coming out. And Allah knows best.
