Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Paranormal phenomena occur for the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him), those who follow him inwardly and outwardly, only for the sake of establishing evidence or for a need. As for evidence, it is for establishing Allah’s religion; and as for a need, it is for what is needed of victory and provision by which Allah’s religion is established.
