If I forgot to say bismillah at the beginning, can I say it in the middle of wudhu? As for washing in between finger joints, is it for fingers and toes? And has it been narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he used to wash once or twice, or did he always wash three times; meaning in wudhu? أسئلة حول التسمية والتخليل والتكرار في الوضوء

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and his companions.

 As to what follows:

In response to your question, we say, and with Allah Almighty lies all success:

Firstly: If you forgot to say bismillah at the beginning of wudhu, then it is not legislated to say it in the middle of it, as its time is at the beginning.

Secondly: Washing in between the fingers and toes is Sunnah.

Thirdly: It has been reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) washed each part once, twice and three times, and that he washed some parts twice while washing other parts thrice in one wudhu.

Your brother,

Dr. Khalid al-Muslih
