What is the ruling on a man who passed the Miqat without assuming ihram and landed in Jeddah though he had the intention when he was at the Miqat to do Umrah after finishing his work?

تجاوز الميقات دون الإحرام2

Answer

All praise is due to Allah alone, and may the Salah and Salam of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions. To answer your question, we say while seeking all the success from Allah: He needs to go to the Miqat that he passed by while intending to do Umrah and assume the ihram from there. However, if he assumed the ihram from Jeddah, then the majority of scholars state that he has to slaughter a sheep for missing the ihram from the Miqat. And Allah knows best.
